More than half the homes in this neighborhood were built before 1945, and it is known for being home to many professionals and being close to an array of vintage and antique shops.

Beacon Hill offers not only a distinctive collection of historic homes, the area includes Love Bird, Lakeland’s newest hot chicken joint.

In 1925, lots of land in Beacon Hill were originally sold for $2,500 to $4,500.

The historic neighborhood includes an assortment of architectural styles, including but not limited to: Bungalow, Frame Vernacular, and Colonial Revival, amongst others.

Some speculate that the name of the neighborhood was an allusion to the elite Beacon Hill area in Boston.
