Jordan Weiland is probably known most for her beautiful wedding photography. You may have even seen her editorial print work in The Lakelander. But the photographer is stepping out and giving locals a chance to experience her thought-provoking new project in person beginning Friday, July 6th, at ART/ifact. The gallery, called Women + Beauty, is dedicated to showcasing women’s natural beauty. Photographed with black and white film, in natural light, and minimal makeup, these photos are intended to contrast the environment of over-produced beauty we are inundated with every day. Weiland’s first public installation will feature 35 images, including women of various ages and ethnicities, and will be appropriate for all ages to attend. The event is free to all, but donations are being accepted here to cover production expenses. Check out the event’s Facebook page for more information.
