As the 4th of July approaches, the pressure to figure out your plans for the weekend is beginning to set in. Lucky for you, we’ve got plenty of events in Polk County for you to bring all of your friends and family to in celebration of our country’s independence.
1. Red, White & Kaboom
On Sunday, July 3rd from 6-9 p.m., Lakelander will gather around Lake Mirror to celebrate July 4th weekend, with entertainment from the Franchise Players (featuring Andrew Luv) before an incredible fireworks display that launches at 9 p.m. You can also give back to your community by bringing canned and non-perishable food items to support Volunteers in Service to the Elderly.
2. Lakeland Flying Tigers Fireworks Extravaganza
On Monday, July 4th The Flying Tigers will face off against the Bradenton Marauders at Joker Marchant Stadium, with a 5 p.m. first pitch. Following the game, the Sofa Kings will perform live music followed by the Lakeland Flying Tigers annual Independence Day fireworks extravaganza.
3. City of Bartow 4th of July Celebration
From 5-10 p.m. on Monday, July 4th, the city of Bartow will host its 4th of July celebration complete with music, food, and fireworks. Feel free to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic basket along with all of your closest friends and family.
4. Red, White & BOOM
On July 2, 3, and 4th, celebrate 4th of July weekend with Legoland as they fill the Florida skies with spectacular fireworks in a world class theme park. Spend the day at the park with family and friends and then find your seat at Lake Eloise to catch the sunset before the show begins. You can even grab a pair of specialty viewing glasses that will turn fireworks into what appears to be LEGO bricks for an enhanced fireworks experience.
5. Plant City 4th of July Celebration
Come out to Plant City Stadium to celebrate a family friendly celebration on Monday, July 4th at 6 p.m.. It is free for all (there is a $5 parking fee), and the event will include games, food, face painting, kiddie train rides, and of course, fireworks.
