Award-winning blogger/author shares storytelling skills at Southeastern University’s Writers’ Conference and Business Breakfast on Jan 31st.

The blogger who grew his online audience to nearly 100,000 people in less than a year will reveal his secrets to telling a good story — whether to brand your business, prepare a press
release, or help develop the novel that lies within you — in Lakeland on Jan. 31.

Jeff Goins will share his talents at the Southeastern University College of Arts & Media’s annual Expressions Storytelling Institute and Writers’ Conference, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Before the conference begins, Goins will be the keynote speaker at a breakfast geared toward the business community, which begins at 7:30 a.m. and is sponsored by Kelly Blackburn at Vogel Realty Services, Inc.

The breakfast, “Introducing the Principles of Artistry into the Workplace,” will be held at Loudon Hall of First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive. The award-winning author of five best-sellers, including Real Artists Don’t Starve: Timeless Strategies for Thriving in the New Creative Age, Goins is well known for his blog,
GoinsWriter.com. He describes the blog as a place to “share my thoughts on writing, life, and creative work. We all have a creative gift worth sharing with the world, and that is our art. So whether you have a business idea, a book in you, or some other project you want to start, my goal is to help you get that work out of you and into the world.”

At the conference, Goins and several professors who teach writing and storytelling in the Department of Humanities within the College of Arts & Media will speak at workshops to
help those attending improve their everyday writing skills. Together, they will provide people with tips to master the art of storytelling.
