The week some of us have been waiting for, while others stand by and shed a tear or two as they watch their kids walk away into the hands of Miss. Frizzle – or something like that.
We’ve put together two Lakelander-approved, easy, healthy lunch box ideas to get your creative juices flowing as you gear up for this school year’s lunch box packing! Lunch:
Penne pasta with organic chicken, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil, and a little bit of olive oil. If your time is truly limited, consider opting for precooked all-natural chicken.
Your kid’s favorite fruit bar or oats bar.
Sliced oranges.
Chicken Penne Pasta: Cook the pasta and chicken the night before, drizzle it with olive oil and refrigerate. The next morning, add mozzarella and tomatoes.
Lunch:
Cream cheese and organic preserves roll-ups on whole-grain bread, 100% grass-fed beef hot dog, and raw veggies.
Cream Cheese Roll-Ups: Take a slice of whole-grain bread and cut off the crust. Flatten the slice of bread with a rolling pin. Spread cream cheese and preserves, then roll and slice into pinwheels.
