A new playground is headed for Bonnet Springs park thanks to a generous $1 million donation by The Ruthvens. The Ruthvens, a Lakeland-based real estate and development firm, donated the money under the Carol Jenkins Barnett Endowment Fund of Bonnet Springs Park.
The Carol Jenkins Barnett Endowment fund was launched by the park mid-March, and will be used to ensure consistent revenue for the park’s various operations and preservation. The nearly two-acre playground will take on the Ruthvens family name, with it officially being referred to as The Ruthvens Family Playground. The new playground will be feature various tiers that contain different equipment for all ages/skill-levels.
The Ruthvens have been in business for over sixty years, and consider themselves to be Central Florida’s warehouse specialists. With this donation to Bonnet Springs park, they continue to support the community they serve by promoting and providing a space for children of all ages to engage and escape with nature.
The Ruthvens Family Playground is slated to open later this year.
