On Sunday night (3/29/20), during a White House press briefing, President Trump officially extended federal social-distancing guidelines to April 30 and stated that the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. was likely to peak in two weeks.

Statewide Updates
On Wednesday 4/2, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis mandated a 30-day stay-at-home order for the state, requiring that all residents stay indoors unless they are pursuing essential services or activities. His executive order will take effect midnight Friday.
The executive order mandates that anyone who isn’t going out for essential work or an essential activity must stay home.
The list of essential work includes healthcare workers, law enforcement, utility workers, journalists, pharmacists, gas station clerks, plumbers, landscapers, weather forecasters, and more. Local Updates
Following Gov. Ron Desantis’ statewide stay-at-home order, all parks and recreation areas will be now be closed in Lakeland.
Closures will include Lake Hollingsworth Trail, Lake Mirror, Lake Morton, Munn Park, tennis courts, and Cleveland Heights Golf Course.
