If you’ve driven down South Florida Avenue lately, you’ve likely noticed the brand-new LoveBird “Almost Famous Chicken” along Beacon Road. This Nashville-inspired hot chicken restaurant is finally open – if you haven’t made it over yet, here’s what to know before you go.

  • Due to its small location in an old gas station, LoveBird mostly services drive-thru and online orders. Its exterior decor features a custom mural by local artist Elizabeth Chinchilla, neon-lit lettering and hot pink signage.
  • Everything’s made in-house at LoveBird. The menu serves up chicken with varied levels of spiciness ranging from regular old fried chicken to “crazy heat.” The mouth-watering menu also features unique southern sides like tangy slaw and cheesy potatoes, and desserts like fire-roasted apple cobbler and banana pudding.

LoveBird is one of many local businesses shifting to accommodate a post-pandemic mindset, which will likely result in many people opting against in-restaurant dining. That said, it’s a welcomed addition to Lakeland’s fast-casual dining repertoire with affordable, quick and delicious eats.
