Summer is quickly approaching, and Central Florida is a great place to spend the season. Here are a few sleepaway camps and daytime programs that will add more fun for the kiddos.

We’re looking forward to the slow summer months. Long days, sweet treats, and beach trips await us … along with the impending boredom of our kids. 

When deciding on the perfect summer camp, parents should consider activities offered, standard pricing, and inclusivity. To take some of the pressure off, we have compiled a list of well-loved and reputable opportunities around Central Florida. Ranging from day-long activities to sleepaway camps, these adventurous and educational programs are sure to keep kids busy all summer long.

Bricks4Kidz 

Bricks4Kidz is the perfect day program for Lakelanders with kids in elementary school. It hosts students as they learn to build models and code using an interactive LEGO robotics platform, allowing them to get a head start on STEM training and make friends along the way.

Camp Frontier

Located on 12,000 acres just outside Haines City, Camp Frontier hosts kids ages 7 to 17 from all over the country. Tuition is all-inclusive, including housing, activities, and meals, and sessions are broken up by age group.

The Lakeland Community Theatre 

The Lakeland Community Theatre offers two unique camps for kids ages 6 to 18: one for musical theatre and one for Broadway. Students will participate in workshops, rehearsals, and performances.

The Explorations V Children’s Museum 

A Lakeland favorite, kids ages 4 to 10 can experience fun, themed, weekly camps hosted by Explorations V. The museum offers a supportive learning environment with provided breakfast and lunch, museum play time, and walking field trips.

Summer Wake Camp at Elite Cable Park

Located in Auburndale, the Summer Wake Camp offers weekly day sessions Monday through Friday throughout June and July. Campers ages 9 to 15 will learn the fundamentals of wakeboarding and progress toward advanced tricks, too.
