With a career spanning over 20 years, the story of Copeland is one full of ups, downs, and a remarkable discography. Now Kyle Brammer, a fan/filmmaker, has compiled that story into a feature-length documentary available to watch for free on YouTube.

“I had no idea it was being made” said Lakelander Aaron Marsh, founder and lead singer of Copeland. “About three or four weeks ago Kyle sent me an almost finished version. He was still messing with small VFX and things. Apparently he had been working on it for almost a year before I ever saw a cut of it.”

Marsh had never thought to tell the long form story of Copeland before. But when he was presented with Brammer’s version, it caused him to reflect on their journey as a band. “I think he did a really good job of portraying the struggle of things going well and then not going very well” said Marsh. “He [Brammer] portrayed that really well in a way that I don’t think I’ve ever said publicly. But somehow by collecting lots of interviews and reading a lot of my words he kind of put the story together.”

The documentary is divided into six chapters that chronicle Copeland’s 20 year career as a band. A career that has sprawled six studio albums, rigorous touring, and thousands of fans. In just a few days online, the documentary has collected over nine thousand views, with nearly a hundred comments from fans showing their appreciation for the band, Copeland, and Brammer for producing the documentary.

“I feel very proud” said Marsh. “Very proud of the career that we’ve had as a band. I really feel great about the things we accomplished. We still have plans for music, but to relive some of our best moments with the fans throughout the years has been really great. Kyle painted a great picture and I really appreciate his work on it.”
