Farmer Will [Crum] is known for his organic produce and Lakeland-based farm. He was born in Lakeland and raised in Toronto, Canada, but his family has been in Polk County for generations. Farmer Will is a seventh-generation farmer, and his family dates back to the beginnings of  Polk County as some of the first to settle here.

Will runs a Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA), where families can sign up for a CSA subscription at $25 a week to receive a share from the farm. Whatever is freshly harvested that week will be boxed up and delivered to the subscribers, at Hillcrest Coffee in Lakeland or Grove Roots in Winter Haven. Together, Farmer Will and Robyn Wilson are launching their first cookbook! Robyn is a long-time Lakelander, foodie, entrepreneur, and frequent taste contributor to The Lakelander.

“We play music together. He [Will] has a fantastic record collection, and we play these awesome records while we’re cooking and eating. It’s like a whole sensory experience every night, with food, music, and friends.”

“The idea organically developed from us just cooking every night, posting the dishes on social media, and then when we would see people around town, they would ask, ‘What is the recipe for that dish you made on your Instagram story?'” say Robyn and Will.

The cookbook will include recipes, tips, different ways to combine ingredients from the farm, ideas about ingredients sourced from specialty grocery stores, illustrations, pictures of the farm, music that can accompany your food, and a few composed meal ideas with playlists

Will and Robyn have also released Dirt zine.

A zine (/ziːn/ ZEEN; short for magazine) is a small-circulation, self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via photocopier. Zines are the product of either a single person or of a very small group and are popularly photocopied into physical prints for circulation.
