Polk County Unites funding is making a difference in the lives of Polk County residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Five million dollars in relief funding is still available to all those who qualify. Individuals who are Polk County residents and have had a loss of income or reduction in income due to COVID-19 are eligible for $2,000 of assistance.

This aid is not a loan, and individuals with spouses who have not had a reduction in income are still eligible to receive this assistance for their household.

“The $2,000 in assistance afforded to households to cover some of those basic household needs like food, rent, mortgage, or utilities have been a much needed financial relief,” said Stacy Campbell-Domineck, President & CEO of CareerSource Polk.

The United Way of Central Florida and the Polk County Board of County Commissioners partnered in May to distribute $15 million in CARES Act funding to residents who experienced a loss of or reduction of income because of the virus.

UWCF partners still have funding available for those who qualify. To find an organization to apply for this assistance, call 2-1-1, or text your zip code to 898-211, and ask about Polk County Unites.
